Disease Reporting in Big Horn County


 

All Montana health care providers are required to report patients diagnosed; Or suspected; with the conditions listed below to their county health department. Reporting enables public health officials to conduct follow-up on cases of significance and identify outbreaks or emerging health concerns. In addition, the information collected allows public and private health professionals to assess long-term trends and patterns in disease prevalence.

Report suspected or confirmed cases by faxing or mailing to the County Health Department.

1. AIDS and HIV infection are reportable directly to the state health department.
2. Requires specimen to be submitted to state health department for confirmation (ARM 16.28.305).
